WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS
Word on the street (and from the DOT) is that we will receive news within the next week notifying us if we were awarded the $1.35 million in grants this year. The struggles of writing grants are real, I’m here to say, and after turning in stacks of papers that a person has labored over for 3 months, this is exciting and scary all at the same time. Wish us luck!
Just wanted to invite anyone interested to our fun wine bus tour, heading to 5 local wineries in our area. It’s amazing how these delicious brands of wines are available for tasting in our own backyard (practically!), and yet we forget to take the time to give them a try. Here are the specifics of our event. On Saturday, September 24th, for $40, which includes your transportation, lunch, and wine tasting fees, your day will start by meeting at Timber Lane Coffee Shop at 9:15 am. Our venue includes Whispering Winds Winery in Fennimore, Spurgeon Vineyards in Highland, Weggy Winery in Muscoda, Branches Vineyard in Westby, and Vernon Vineyards in Viroqua, with the bus coming back to Boscobel around 7:00 pm. Bus festivities will include a 50/50 raffle, lots of snacks, and more fun than one person ought to have in one day! There are only 16 spots left, and it’s filling up fast. To reserve your seat, go to www.wirivertrail.org, select “Store”, go to page 2, and follow the instructions to purchase your tickets, or stop and see Jo Sommers at Community First Bank. Payment is required to save your seats!
Our 3rd Annual Hiking/Biking Banquet, being held on November 12th, just received a donation of an autographed bat by Paul Molitor! If you want to be on the top of the waiting list for tickets, contact Denise Fisher at denisefisher5995@gmail.com, or call/text at 507-269-2606. This event only gets better! There are 200 tickets sold. Come to enjoy a great meal, our band, Fast Action, and all our attendees because we are all sorts of fun!
