It’s CONSTRUCTION WEEK! Work should begin on May 31st! There’s nothing a community can’t do when they put their strength and hearts together! Grants were written this last week for two smaller grants from Theisen’s and The Keen Effect. These grants totaling $15,000 would be used to help fund the engineering costs for phase 2A to Cozy Acres Mobile Park.
Who needs a ticket? July 3rd, WRTO is sponsoring its 3rd Annual Rooster Andy’s Chicken BBQ at Kronshage Park! For $10, your meal will consist of ½ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll, dessert, and a drink. We will have a DJ, door prizes, and raffles for our electronic bike, valued at $2000, donated by Crazy Lennie’s in Madison. Tickets will be on sale at Krachey’s BP, Casey’s, Community First Bank, Cenex, Clare Bank, and Peoples State Bank. You can have delivery scheduled from the hours of 10:30 am-2pm, or stop in and enjoy a picnic at the park from 11am-3 pm. Desserts are being donated (to date) from: Mrs. B’s Bakery, Piggly Wiggly, Timber Lane Coffee Shop, Kim Kazda, Sunny Jerrett, Joan Atkinson, Jo Sommers, Darla Karasek, and Karen Leonard. Thank you all for helping us gather up 800 pieces of delicious desserts! Yum!
We have a circus coming to town with 90-minute shows at 5 and 7:30 on Thursday, August 11th. There will be the usual big top events, and a clown coming to town a week prior to the event to stop in at the swimming pool and library! Tickets are $7.00 for kids and seniors, and $10 for adults prior to the day of the event. Check out the circus website at www.cmcircus.com. Area businesses will have tickets on sale soon.
Don’t forget our big green bike is available to “BIKE” a house/business. For $15, you can have the bike placed, and for $10, those blessed with the bike in their yard, can move it to someone else’s or just have it removed from their yard. It’s a fun way to let everyone know that a birthday, anniversary, retirement, or any event is happening in our area.
