WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS

GET YOUR CHICKEN!  J  It’s the WRTO’s 3rd Annual Rooster Andy’s Chicken BBQ at Kronshage Park on July 3rd!  For $10, your meal will consist of ½ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll, dessert, and a drink.  We will have a DJ, door prizes, and raffles for our electronic bike, valued at $2000, donated by Crazy Lennie’s in Madison.  Tickets will be on sale at Krachey’s BP, Casey’s, Community First Bank, Cenex, Clare Bank, and Peoples State Bank.  You can have delivery scheduled from the hours of 10:30 am-2pm, or stop in and enjoy a picnic at the park from 11am-3 pm.   Desserts are being donated (to date) from these local businesses:  Mrs. B’s Bakery, Piggly Wiggly, Timber Lane Coffee Shop, along with many other local delicious dessert donations.  There will be face painting for the kids, games, door prize drawing, and the radio station will be present for the first couple of hours!  Get your tickets early as we always sell out of chicken!  It’s that amazing!  Call or text 507-269-2606 this week to get your tickets delivered to you.

We have a circus coming to town with 90-minute shows at 5 and 7:30 on Thursday, August 11th.  There will be the usual big top events, and a clown coming to town a week prior to the event to stop in at the swimming pool and library!  Tickets are $7.00 for kids and seniors, and $10 for adults prior to the day of the event.  Tickets will be sold at the Chicken BBQ on July 3rd, as well as available at local businesses too.  Check out the circus website at www.cmcircus.com.  Area businesses will have tickets on sale soon.  We’ll keep you posted!

The WRTO has been working on a donation campaign.  Most non-profit organizations are made up of over 70% of private donations.  The WRTO funds come from less than 1% private donations.  We’ve created a simple way to donate $5-$10/month directly out of your bank account through your bank, and after a donation of $250, you will receive an inscribed brick to put at our trail’s free-standing flag memorial.  More info coming soon!  Please help us create an even better community!
