Wisconsin River Trail
Construction Phase 3

Phase 3

Phase Three will return to Boscobel from Wauzeka to the Von Haden Boat Landing, creating a loop on both sides of the Wisconsin River.

The trail will follow Highway 60 similar to the Phase 2A trail following Hwy 133 West to Woodman.

In 2023, road construction is occurring from the middle of Wauzeka to the County Road 131 intersection.

Together with the Department of Transportation, an addition of a wider shoulder has been funded and planned to create, for now, a safer, wider area to bike and hike.

There are plans to create a separate trail, but for now, this is a great addition.

Other Phases of the Trail

Phase 1

Completed in 2016, Phase 1 connects the Sanders Creek walking/biking trail to the Boscobel boat landing.

Enjoy the Wisconsin River Trail to walk, bike, run and view eagles’ nests, turtle habitats, and more safely.

Phase 2

In this phase, we’ll create a hiking/biking trail that leads from Boscobel toward Woodman.

It is economically and environmentally- friendly to parallel parts of the railroad tracks, 51 feet from the tracks, to minimize the need to clear land, and also, to widen easements that are not taxing to the landowners.

Phase 4

The highlight of our trail will be a magnificent feat: a crossing over the Wisconsin River. This picturesque location features stunning country and river views, providing a unique opportunity to admire nature’s beauty that was previously only accessible by boat.
