WE DID IT! We just received word that we are the recipients of the Cabela’s Outdoor Fund grant! We will receive a grant of $3800 to use in our phase one trail construction to begin this fall. Every time you are at Cabela’s and are asked if you would like to round up your dollar amount at the cashier counter, please do, because projects like this matter for a lifetime to our children and grandchildren! The good news is we can reapply yearly for this grant too. A huge thank you goes out to Cabela’s and Randy Christensen for all your support.

The Taste of Boscobel is looking like it’s going to be so much fun! Saturday, September 26th from noon-5 pm, we will have a great Boscobel fest going on at Double K’s, with music from Fast Action (who is very excitingly getting back together to play for us!) and Greg Patchak. For $10 prior to the day of the event, or $15 at the door, we will have samples of different beer, wine, cheese, and many other local treats. As of now, we have vendors still signing up, with 17 vendor booths participating. BBQ chicken, pizza, donuts, cheeses, crafts, and other items will be available too. Vendor booths are free, so please feel free to contact Wendi Stitzer at 485-1202 to hold your vendor spot.

The $1000 room tax check was deposited last week. Thanks to the city of Boscobel for the support of our trail.

Our Hiking and Biking Banquet will be on November 14th this year. Gifts and donations are starting to come in. The cost is $20/person and includes a wonderful meal from Boscobel Bowl & Banquet. Our goal this year is $20,000 to raise for the trail. If you would like a ticket or would like to donate cash or an item, please contact Denise Fisher at 507-269-2606 or denisefisher5995@gmail.com.

News on the DNR grant is delayed due to a restructuring of the positions within the DNR. We await news impatiently (!) and will let everyone know as soon as we hear anything. Stay tuned to our Facebook group site, Wisconsin River Trail Project.

Have the best week this week everyone!
