LOCAL VROC DONATES TO THE WRTO

WISCONSIN RIVER TRAIL NEWS

You know you are from somewhere special when a group of local motorcyclists contact you and tell you that they want to donate to your organization. I’m never quite sure how thank you is enough, when a group of people you don’t even really know personally, is so kind, but THANK YOU, Boscobel VROC!

This group of wonderful people started a tradition over 20 years ago of meeting up on Father’s Day every year, catching up, and going for a bike ride, and then donating to a deserving organization. Please visit their site, boscobelvroc.net. The group raised $700 and the Boscobel business formerly known as Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc (now known as Nelnet), is matching that amount! Thank you all! Your kindness touches my heart…

Speaking of heart, I just wanted to talk about what I see when I come home…. which is why I come home. I see Doyle Lewis at the Unique Café, working his tail off with his awesome staff, making the best pancakes for my Mom, who is almost 90 and still smashing a pancake the size of a frisbee like a champ…because it’s that good. While there, I see a long table full of people that sit down to mix company. They didn’t plan to meet there, and they might not be best friends, but we’re Boscobel, and we do Boscobel things well. I drop my Mom off at the nursing home, and the staff are the same wonderful and beautiful people that my Mom worked with in the 1970’s and 1980’s when I was a little girl. When I ask them when they are going to retire, they say they don’t want to. That’s my home. That’s why we build a trail. (To my English teachers, I know Mom in my mom does not need to be capitalized, but she always deserves the big M! ?)

So back to “business”,

let us know you want to reserve a chicken BBQ meal for July 3rd by calling/texting Denise Fisher at 507-2606, Jo Sommers at 608-375-4739, or Tonia Vial at 608-391-0113, or email at denisefisher5995@gmail.com, sommersjo@hotmail.com, or tmvial@yahoo.com. Cost is $11.00 for a DELICIOUS ½ chicken, baked beans, potato salad, roll, dessert, and beverage. We also have an autographed Packers football autographed by the players of the 1986/1987 (I think) season donated by Angie O’Brien’s dad that you can by a chance to win, as well as our 50/50 drawing. What better way to come home than to hang out in the park and enjoy our family and friends? Schedule a delivery, or you can come up to Kronshage Park and have the best chicken BBQ. We’re only ordering 500 meals this year! Thank you to A & W and Dairy Queen for helping us with supplies this year!

Music at the Mill, Take 2, is going to be held on Wednesday, July 10th (rain or shine) from 6-8:30 pm. Our local and sought-after Soldiers Groves band, Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, are going to blast your shoes off, so make plans to come! We’ll have dinner ready again…and Udder Brothers ice cream. All you have to do is bring your chair and beverages of choice. Look the band up-www.sapsuckersmusic.com. You’re going to love them!
Have a great week! Thanks for being my home peeps! Denise
